How guides are chosen
Every guide covers a sauce, syrup, glaze or topping with a clear use case and enough technical depth to be worth 900+ words. We avoid topics that only duplicate an existing guide with a different name.
How guides are written
Guides are drafted and edited in-house. We cross-check ratios, techniques and historical claims against the sources listed on our methodology and sources page before publishing. We do not publish AI-generated text without human review and fact-checking.
What we don't do
- We do not invent named experts, credentials, studies or testimonials.
- We do not claim a technique is the only correct way to do something when reputable sources disagree.
- We do not give medical, allergen-safety, or food-safety-critical advice beyond general, well-documented practice; when in doubt, we tell readers to check a current official source.
Corrections and updates
When a factual error is confirmed, we correct it and log it on the corrections page. Each article shows the date it was last reviewed.
